Zimbali Lodge
A project north of Durban (Kwa-Zulu Natal) consists out of a main lodge with suites around overlooking part of the spectacular Zimbali golf course and Indian Ocean. The first Balinese style hotel complex in South Africa. Nico was part of the Architectural design team and co-ordinator between the structural, mechanical and electrical designs.

Medical
Nico was involved in the design and construction of various private hospitals in Polokwane (Limpopo Province), Nelspruit (Mpumalanga) and Vryburg (Northwest Province).

Sport
Nico joined a multi-disciplinary engineering company where he worked in various departments like structural, electrical, mechanical to learn more about engineering.One of the most challenging projects in the structural engineering field was his involvement in the upgrading and extensions to the existing ABSA rugby stadium in Durban (Kwa-Zulu Natal), prior to the 1995 rugby world cup.
